So in the midst of testing out every single application made for Twitter on the iPhone, I tried out the much touted Twinkle. Mainly I got it because of the buzz on Twitter itself for it, all my geek friends were saying how awesome it was when they had to jail break their iPhones, and how awesome it was now that it was official and on the Apps store. Well, I downloaded it. . . and used it, and it well. . .lets first talk about the good.

The nearby link is made of win, because I could see Tweets just around my city or however many miles I would wanna see them. Very cool indeed. This made me happy! And it looked good! The next day I went to use the application, and here is where it gets lumped into the same category as Twitterific in my book. It crashes all the time. I can not even get it to open to read anything, just like Twitterific. So while its pretty, and there certainly is a lot of hype about this application (deserves it for the location based tweets) Another gripe is when I first launched the application the freaking noise it made was just to much, and no where to adjust the volume! Just on, or off. Right. So after turning the sound off it made it much better. I guess the devs making this client went with the Apple way of doing things with only wanting you to use their noise, under their terms.

So where does this leave me? It leaves me deleting this pretty and functional seeming application off of my iPhone, and sticking with Twittelator. Not only does it get my vote because it HAS YET TO CRASH ON MY PHONE, the multiple @’s and groups make it the most functional Twitter client for my iPhone (and the most reliable) So hats off to the folks over at Stone.com for they are made of complete WIN.
