Android vs iPhone

So I have used and abused every iPhone that came out, but was upset at the close environment and lack of a keyboard. I tried the G1, Mytouch, and toyed around with a Droid in the store. After almost 6 months on Android, and using a G1 I can say without a doubt. iPhone has the BEST platform for a phone. Yes, it lacks a keyboard, and yes it is a system that is locked down (without jailbreaking) but, BUT Apple has a seamless integration with their hardware and software I just can NOT ignore.

Android, while I loved your keyboard and your open system….you lack polish, you lack apps I used every day (Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, WOW Armory App) yeah, I just picked out two WOWcentric apps I used, but it proves a point. Blizzard has YET to move their apps over to Android…why I can only guess. Plus, the video and camera oh the iPhone is top notch for a phone. The lack of moving parts and it’s excellent design is much nicer as well.

I know that while I used Android I dove head first into fanboydom, but after using the phone…it lacked for me. So until there is a reasonable replacement to Apple’s bad ass integration, I will be an iPhone user.

Just got it installed before hitting sleep. Nifty so far with no crashing. I know tap tap and some others sometimes crap out.

Will write more tomorrow.

iPhone 2.0.1 Firmware Released

Update 8: Things feel much “snappier” and the keyboard does not seem to lag as much. We will see how well it does in between restarts. Ah, also moving a program from one screen to the next feels MUCH more solid, much more Mac like. Now hopefully PUSH email will work like it is supposed to now. *le sigh* the Google Maps app does not seem changed much. ..but it is BLAZING fast. Was this just a speed update? At almost 250 megs it seems like it would of been a lot more. This is it for now, maybe tomorrow I can dig up something more of what was updated. Good night.

So in the midst of testing out every single application made for Twitter on the iPhone, I tried out the much touted Twinkle. Mainly I got it because of the buzz on Twitter itself for it, all my geek friends were saying how awesome it was when they had to jail break their iPhones, and how awesome it was now that it was official and on the Apps store. Well, I downloaded it. . . and used it, and it well. . .lets first talk about the good.

iPhone 3g Launch

So this past Friday I woke up around 6am, and headed down to the local AT&T Corp store in my area. When I got there, I could not believe it, there were about 200 people there! I was for sure this store would have little to no people there, as really. . .who would of thought. this is the 2nd launch, not the first!
