I think this is just amazing, and even more amazing that those sites I was all angry about before have NOT reported on this at all. Still not giving AMD the fair shake, I smell being paid out by Intel if you ask me.
While in my parts search and comparison for a low power AMD system to use for an HTPC, the new Phenoms came out! I was looking around at benchmarks and performance data out there, and came across some pretty dirty dealing.

Pretty soon here I will be putting myself together my first “green” PC. For years I have been using high heat machines with monstrous appetites, I want to make all of this change with the move to a lower footprint power supply (80% eff) All integrated graphics, sound ect, and a decent lower wattage CPU. I will see how it goes and the different in perceived performance over a power hungry setup like I have now.

Since x86 processors popped onto the landscape in 1978 it has steadily climbed to the top of the processor mountain. While many other architectures vied for dominance during the last 30 years, some of them attaining success in the server market, and in commercial ventures such as the PPC chips used in macs for many years, none of them could match the x86’s penetration and market share. This is mainly due to one single factor, Intel.
If you are into computer hardware, and especially graphic hardware, it has been hard to miss the debut of AMD/ATI’s 4000 series GPU. If you have been totally in the dark, go get caught up here and here. Basically no one has been able to touch their GPU power, only Intel’s vaporware Larrabee has the ability to oust it..on paper.
